Meet n Greet

Seattle, WA
I guess this is the area for the meet n greet. Hello and welcome, Friends, Family and Strangers. We’ll see how this whole blogging thing goes, as of now there are no real outlines for it--I'm thinking I'll take a Freudian approach and let my subconscious do the writing. I guess I'm here 'cause, well, I just like to write. I also like to take pictures, doodle, sketch, write long lists and share the strange things I find on the interweb. Some applaud my humble exploration, while others... well don't. I'm a little disheveled in my abstractions and narrations, but I can be interesting sometimes, too. I don't really care, but now that you have entered my world, you are now a part of the judging jury. This is an outlet for my musings. Nonlinear and no editing. Enjoy.

Taking the morning off. Cause I call the shots.

Water is dumping down and all I can do is stare blurry eyed out the window. No thinking. Nothing at all. Just watching water dribble down the glass in slow rivers.

But that's a lie. Thoughts are pouring down harder than the rain outside.

It seems to be a custom, when something ends, to recap it. I'm tempted to do just that, because it is after all, the end of autumn quarter of my junior year, the end of 2010, the end of the first decade of the 21st century.... Maybe you didn't see it coming but December is signaling one enormous end. And unlike how I usually feel around moments like this (bitter nostalgia, burdening sentimentality, wishing for a time turner), I actually am feeling, well, relieved. It's more of finally moment rather than a wait what? STOP! moment....

I'm liking the idea of beginning again. New years are fun, new decades are even better. As far as a new quarter going, I'm excited not to be reading Old English anymore or playing Survival of the Smartest.

But as much as I would like to recap, I'm still drowning in the present. Maybe in a few days when I'm home enjoying the sunshine I will miss the rain and everything that pours with it.

But this is the present state of my mind:
  • Adam and Eve and that damn serpent.
  • postmodernism and September 11th
  • the inviolability of animals, cognitively impaired, and fetuses
  • How I used to imagined that the sound of my heart beat was giant's footfalls.
  • how to pull a perfect espresso
  • The ten page paper due tomorrow.
  • Princess Mononoke
  • Getting my car registered in Washington
  • finding my flight confirmation for thursday
  • burritos and beer.
  • Celine Dion
  • My laundry situation
  • working 9 hours on Wednesday
